1. RULES: This regatta will be governed by the rules, as defined by The International Sailing Federation Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of U.S. Sailing (except as any of these are altered by this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions), the J/29 Class Association Rules, this Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions. This regatta is classified as a Category A event in accordance with RRS Appendix 1
2. ELGIBILITY: This regatta is open to J/29 sailboats with any of the factory designed rig plans. All owners or charterers and their helmsmen must be members of the J/29 Class Association.
3. ENTRIES: Entries shall be submitted postmarked no later than August 15, 2009. Entries postmarked after August 15, 2009 will be subject to a $50 late entry fee.
 
Entry Fee: $200 per boat. Fee includes free mooring for the entire event at the club – first entered, first served.

4. RATINGS: This regatta will be a one-design regatta using adjustments per the J/29 Class Rules to allow for the differences in rig plans and engine types (inboard/outboard).
5. CREW WEIGHT LIMIT: The weight limit for all crews will be a maximum of 1,500lbs. No crew substitutions will be allowed without the written consent of the Race Committee. All crews must weigh in during the weigh in periods, which are Thursday, September 10, 1700-2000hrs., and Friday, September 11, 0800-0900hrs.
6. CHECK-IN: Thursday September 10, 1500-1900hrs., at East Greenwich Yacht Club. All boats must be launched and mast stepped by 1800hrs. Thursday.
7. SCHEDULE:
Skipper’s Meeting: Thursday, September 10, 2009, 1900 hrs. at the East Greenwich Yacht Club – main function room. 
Races: Friday, Saturday and Sunday; September 11, 12 and 13; with up to 10 races attempted. The first warning signal each race day will be at 1100 hrs. No races will be started after 1400hrs on Sunday.
8. COURSES: Multiple lap windward-leeward courses.
9. SCORING: The low-scoring system will apply except that no score will be excluded. This modifies RRS Appendix A-2. A minimum of 2 races constitute a series.
10. PRIZES: Daily and series prizes will be awarded.
11. SOCIAL:
Thursday Night:  Welcoming reception/Skippers meeting, 1900 hours. Cash bar.
Friday Night:  Cookout at Yacht Club, 1700 hours. Cash bar & keg beer.
Saturday Night:  Cookout at Yacht Club, 1700 hours. Cash bar & keg beer.
Sunday:  Awards & cookout at Yacht Club immediately following racing. Cash bar & keg beer.
12. STORAGE, LAUNCHING & STEPPING: Boats may be launched at Brewers Yacht Yard Cowesett, Warick, RI (http://www.byy.com/warwick/index.cfm) Thursday, September 10th. Boats wishing to launch earlier can make individual arrangements. Launching will be by travel lift. Hauling will be done Sunday afternoon. All-inclusive fee for launching, hauling, stepping and dockage will be $350. Contact Dexter Holliday at BYY Cowesett for reservations (401-884-0544).
13. AMENDMENTS TO THIS NOTICE: The EGYC Race Committee and Regatta Chairman reserve the right to amend this notice. Amendments to the Sailing Instructions and Notices to Competitors will be posted on the Official Notice Board at The East Greenwich Yacht Club.
14. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Will be available at Registration.
